4 Part Assessment Course Duration:

Course Content:
  • i Slinging and lifting, including theoretical test
  • ii Examination of lifting tackle
  • iii Simulated lifting exercises using various pieces of equipment
  • iv Practical on the job assessments

Intended Candidates:
For those who use lifting equipment on a regular basis.

Course Requirements:
  • Classroom
  • Crane of the type the candidate will be required to use
  • Suitable Training Area
  • Various weight and size loads

On Completion:
The candidates will receive a certificate of basic operator training, entry onto National Delegate Register (NDR) and photographic I.D. card if requested.

Additional Notes:
Example: Department has 20 drivers using Pendant Cranes:
  • Break 20 into groups of a manageable size that can be released from department
  • Complete part i of the assessment process. They can then return to the department
  • In ones or twos they will be called back to complete sections ii, iii and iv
  • This reduces the impact on the department without reducing the standards

If additional training is required for a candidate they can be integrated into the normal training program at a level that will meet their needs.
