Manual Handling

Course Duration:
2 hour course see below.

Course Objectives:
On completion of this course, candidates will have an understanding of:
  • Understand the factors involved in a good base movement
  • Understand the need for the application of a good base movement in manual handling
  • Demonstrate the good base movement by lifting an object using the kinetic approach

Intended Candidates:
Candidates who have undergone a “High Risk” manual handling course and have a responsibility for others (Team leading managers) and may be called upon to evaluate lifting tasks (Risk Assessors).

Course Ratio:
6 Candidates and 1 Instructor.

Course Requirements:
  • Classroom
  • Various objects that the candidates may have to lift in their working day

The course content will be introduced through formal presentation with audiovisual support, together with extensive practical training.

On Completion:
The candidates will receive a certificate of basic operator training, entry onto National Delegate Register (NDR) and photographic I.D. card if requested.
